Course Copy Process Guru Card Initiative 

At the start of my role as an ID Specialist, there was no one course copy resource for all teams to reference. Each team had thier own resource that was slightly different with multiple versions. This created confusion and slowed down the course copy process. I then created a Guru card that compiled all the relevant information to one, clear resource. 

As the process has updated, other members have collaborated to update this version that highlight best practices for both Instructional Designers and Faculty.

The Impact 

The Course Copy Guru card has allowed for a streamlined, synchronized resource for Instructional Designers to reference when completing course copies within the Canvas LMS. Continuous updates are made in GURU to prevent versioning and increase relevance due to LMS and blueprint updates. Suggested actions such as removing/shifting course dates, best practices for tech tools such as Harmonize, Kritik, etc., and updated pages are included. The Guru Dashboard has been increasingly used as a resource across FIU Online, ensuring efficiency and synchronization within internal processes.
